Hi, I’m Melissa

Melissa is a sweet, sensitive cat who needs a little extra time and understanding to feel secure. She can become overwhelmed in large, open spaces, so she'll need to start her new life in a small launch room where she can settle in before gradually exploring the rest of the house at her own pace.

To help Melissa feel safe, her new home should offer plenty of cozy hideaways - cardboard boxes, cat igloos, scratch posts, cat trees, and access to shelves or dressers. Having both high and low safe spots around the home will give her the confidence to relax and observe her surroundings comfortably.

Melissa will be timid when she first arrives and may take a little while before showing her true, affectionate self. Calm teens or older children who know when to give her room would be suitable.

Adopter should encourage play with toys instead of hands, cease interaction if cat becomes mouthy or over-excited. Play therapy will help give Melissa an acceptable outlet for her frustration

Melissa likes her space, and asks that she be your one and only - no other cats or dogs in the home please

If you're looking for a quiet, sensitive companion who will blossom with patience and kindness, Melissa may be the perfect addition to your home
